Municipal and Regional Theater of Corfu (DIPETHE) was founded in 1997. Ιt is the newest member of the institution of DIPETHE as it was inaugurated by the Minister of Culture Melina Mercouri, in the late 1980s.

It has a special character as it is located in the most advanced ‘gate’ of the country to the West, on our northwestern border, in Corfu, the largest island and capital of the Ionian, with its rich history, distinct temperament and tradition, especially in the field of Culture.
